“Scat III” is the beautifully restored and maintained P-38J aircraft from the Fagen Fighters World War II museum. Ron & Diane Fagen have recently changed the nose art of their familiar P38J from “Ruff Stuff” to “Scat III” to honor Robin Olds. Ron and Evan Fagen will talk about the restoration, operation and flight characteristics of this beautiful aircraft. They will be joined by Christina Olds, daughter of Robin Olds and author of “Fighter Pilot, The Memoirs of Legendary ace Robin Olds”. Robin was a World War II Ace, flying the P-38 and P-51. Robin is best known as the leader of the F-4 Wolfpack battling over North Vietnam. As commander of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing at Ubon Air Base, Thailand, he was credited with shooting down four enemy MiG aircraft in aerial combat over North Vietnam. The US Air Force still operates the F-4 “Scat XXVII”.
